Guest wifi
Visitors can connect to the Guest WiFi today and receive speeds of up to 50mbps.
How to connect:
- Select UOH-Guest from the list of wireless networks on your laptop or mobile device.
- Open your browser and you will be redirected to a login page.
- Enter your email address and mobile number.
- Tick the boxes to accept the terms and conditions and then press ‘Get Online’.
- After a few moments, you will see the word ‘success’.
- You are now connected! Close and re-open your browser to go online.
eduroam
The eduroam service offers impressive speeds of up to 100mbps across the University campus.
How to connect:
- Connect to the UOH-Guest network using the instructions above
- Browse to cat.eduroam.org and follow the instructions to download the eduroam installer.

Campus-wide printing
SmartPrint machines allow University staff and students to print documents from any open access PC, laptop, mobile or tablet when connected to the eduroam wireless network. SmartPrint machines can also copy and scan documents to email.

Viper - High Performance Computing
Viper is the University of Hull's first institutional High Performance Computer (HPC). Our mission is to be recognised as a leader and a centre of excellence in the provision of quality HPC services and support.
The University of Hull is committed to research excellence and Viper is key for meeting the ever-growing demands of the University research community. Viper is based on technically advanced and innovative systems that enable excellence in HPC dependent research. Researchers at the University can now solve large, complex and challenging problems in a fraction of the time that it would take a conventional computer to complete.
Viper is available to all research staff and postgraduates at the University of Hull for free, and provides an environment that will stimulate innovation and support world class research.
As well as managing the HPC facility, IT offer the following services to help the research community make the most of the resources available:

Support and advice on areas such as migrating tasks from the desktop to HPC and HPC workflows

Software engineering resource to work with researchers and research groups to develop and optimise code to run on the HPC

Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
We are introducing the use of Multifactor Authentication (MFA) on your university email to provide an additional layer of security on your account.
MFA works by requiring another method of authentication in addition to your university email and password. This will be required to access university email as well as other university services.
